Around the Sella mountain

A real insiders' tip for strong ski alpinists. From the Chamanna Coaz you climb the Piz Sella, you ski down in direction of the Bivacco Parravicini, to take the couloir which leads you directly to the Vedretta di Scerscen inferiore. From there you will hike up to the Fuorcla Fex-Scerscen and to the Fuorcla Glüschaint. At the end a beautiful descent to the Chamanna Coaz is waiting for you. The team of the hut is pleased to inform you about the details.
D, 7-8 h

Bernina Haute Route

There are many ways to cross the Bernina mountains - we suggest this one:

  • day 1: arrival and ascent to the Chamanna Coaz via Corvatsch, perhaps in combination with climbing Piz Corvatsch or Il Chapütschin
  • day 2: Piz Glüschaint; overnight stay at the Chamanna Coaz
  • day 3: Piz Sella; overnight stay at the Rifugio Marinelli
  • day 4: Piz Palü; overnight stay at the Chamanna Boval
  • day 5: Piz Misaun, descent to Morteratsch; departure

Difficulty: AD, walking times up to 8 h per day
